Kinlow is the easiest way to launch a website for your private practice
She'd just qualified as a psychotherapist. She asked if I could help her set up a simple, professional therapist website. Something to help her stand out on Counselling Directory.
I’ve built loads of websites so I was happy to help. But I needed to hand it over for her to run herself. It mustn't need a lot of technical knowledge. And it had to be affordable.
We quickly found that the main website builders did too much and were too expensive. She just needed a clean, professional website with one or two pages.
Wix and SquareSpace were over the top. They had too many features and too much to learn. She didn’t need endless templates, layouts and add-ons. Paying £20+ per month for all that stuff she wasn't using just didn't make sense.
Launching a website doesn't have to be complicated. You don't need to learn technical jargon, the difference between your "domain" and your "hosting".
Kinlow is a simple, quick website builder that keeps that stuff under the hood.
You don't even need to write anything: Kinlow starts with your profile from Counselling Directory or Psychology Today. It adapts the copy and lays it out in a professional, modern template.
You're not a designer: you don't have to learn design in order to have an elegant, modern website.
If you don't know where to start, Kinlow will show you a couple of versions. If you love one, you're done and you can get back to your clients. If it sparks some ideas about colours and fonts, you can tweak it until you're happy.
Your clients are looking for you on mobile: your site needs to work perfectly on mobile. Sites built with Kinlow all work perfectly on mobile, tablet and laptop.
You're not looking for a complicated website with bells and whistles. You're not expecting millions of users a month. Most website builders try to be everything to everyone, and that's expensive. Kinlow is the opposite: it makes relatively straightforward, professional websites for therapists and nothing else.
Most website builders are based in the US with expensive developers and swanky shareholders.
Kinlow is built and run by a solo developer in the north of England. My costs are low and by keeping things simple I can provide a beautiful, modern website for £8 per month, all in, with no setup.
Kinlow is for anyone in the UK who isregistered with the BACP, UKCP, BPC or other professional body, for example:
It's for people who want to stand out among the thousands of other profiles on the directory sites.
It's for people who value their time spent with clients more than time spent twiddling knobs on a website builder.
It's for people who want a beautiful, minimal website to promote themselves to their clients.
Most website builders make you learn a lot of technical stuff. They'll use works like domain names, DNS, hosting, registrar. You don't have to learn all that stuff.
Most website builders are extremely flexible so you can make any website you can imagine. That flexibility makes it complicated to use and it's overkill if you want a relatively straightforward website.
Kinlow only does websites for therapists and counsellors. It's deliberately less flexible to make everything simpler to use.
On most website builders you start with a blank page. It's up to you to figure out the layout, the colours, the photos, what to write. This is time consuming and can be overwhelming.
Kinlow starts with your existing profile and makes a beautiful website without asking any questions at all. You're 90% of the way there. From there you can call it "good enough for now" and get on with your day. Or you can tweak the theme, the colours, fonts until it's perfect.
Kinlow is currently in private beta. I'm working with a handful of psychotherapists to get it just right.

General availability is expected around December 26-January 2027.
